Share Using The Share DG Button
Share to DG using the handy DG button allows you to share to DG without even having to visit the site. To activate this new and cool feature simply head over to your profile page. Go to the "Share Anywhere Button"
select the "Share on DriversGarage" button and drag it and drop it into the bookmarks toolbar. When the bookmark is clicked, the title and URL of the current page your in will pop up for sharing to your Driversgarage account. Any shared items will post to the user’s personal or group activity stream.

How to create groups
Alright lets say you want to a create a group so that you can host your club or post related to your car brand or perhaps host post related to drag racing. Remember this group could be of what ever you want it to be and can be either private or public. Creating groups helps filter some of the post out of the general population making easier to track by your group members. Lets get started:
Step 1: Click on the groups tab on the main menu
Step 2: Click on the "create a group" button
Step 3: Fill in the group name under the "group name" field, then fill in the group description under the "group description" field and click the "create group and continue" button
Step 4: Now you need to fill in your group settings. Here you got 3 options for the group privacy along with their descriptions. In a nutshell "Public" means that everyone sees everything and post in your group, "Private" means that DG users can request to be a part of the group and a group admin or moderator can then allow that user access to the group. Only members of that group can see and post comments, "Hidden" means that the group is completely hidden from the site and only members invited will be able to see and post comments. This hidden group will also be hidden from the list of active groups.
You will also have to select on this section of the process who is allow to invite other members to join your group and how you want to deliver the group email subscription (ex - weekly, biweekly) and so on.
Hit the "Next Step" button when done
Step 5: Upload an image to be your group's avatar and select the "Next Step" button
The next section will only have to be filled if you have an upcoming event. If not select the "Finish" button and your done.

If you are part of a group, then you should know that there is a setting that allows you to get Weekly Summary Email, Daily Digest Emails and New Topics Emails when there is new activity on the group that your a part of. These settings are very easy to change. Here is how:
1 - Mouse over "My Account" > then select "Groups" or just click on the "Groups" tab (see image)
2 - Once in the "Groups Directory" you can either select the group you want to change your email subscriptions settings to or you can select the settings right from the directory by selecting "Get Email Updates" link on the right hand side of the directory.
3 - If you decide to select/click on the group. Once your on the group page there are 2 more ways to change these settings as well. One way is to click on the "Get Email Updates" link and select from there or click on the "Email Options" tab and make the selections from there. (see images below)
Now that you know where to go to enable and disable the email subscription options, lets go over the different available options
No Email: This one is easy, you get no emails at all regarding your group
Weekly Summary Email: With this option selected you get an email each week with a summary of new topics for each week
Daily Digest Email: This allows you to get an email daily with everything that happened during the day on that set group
New Topics Email: This one is also easy, with this selected you basically get an email for every new topic or post on your group but you do not get an email where there are new replies to that set group
All Email: This one is for all of you that really need or want to be updated with everything that goes on in that group. All activities on that group will be send via email as it arrives

How to change your avatar
Dont want to be boring and have the default avatar ;)?
1 - Mouse over "My Account" > then over "Profile" > and then select "Change Avatar"
2 - Click on the Choose File button
3 - You will then get a pop up box. Here you can search your desktop for a picture file which will then be used by the system as your set profile avatar.
4 - Once uploaded the system is going to allow you to crop it to your likeing. Once you done croping click on Crop Image.
Once this has been done your profile should display your new and sexy avatar.

How to change the notifications
Are you getting too many notifications or not enough? There is a very simple way to get to them and change them.
1 - Mouse over "My Account" > then "Settings" > and then select "Notifications"
2 - In here you can see all the available type of notifications. Select which ones you want by select YES and the ones you dont want by selecting No. Once you have made all the selections click on Save Changes.

How to create a badge
A badge will show off your information on other sites like forums and websites. This is how to create one
1 - Run mouse over "My Account" > Then "Profile" > then click on "Badge"
2 - Select from the left side all the field you would to appear on the badge. Once you hit the "update badge" button the badge on the right hand side will update with the profile information you selected.
3 - Once everything has been setup and you are ok with the information your badge is displaying, you can now copy the code and paste it on your favorite site/forum
NOTE - Some forums will give you a hard time when placing this code under the signature section. Here is an example on how you can edit the code so that it will display properly.
